The design of this poster for the short story "The Falling Star" addresses the project's goals by following the client's request to create a poster that is enticing to viewers without revealing too much of the story while using a limited color palette.
I achieved this by creating a design that utilizes aspects from the story to present a design that is minimalist and uses a striking color palette of orange and purple to draw the viewer's eye with text that symbolizes the path of the crashed ship by having the text appear as if it is falling towards the earth.
This design utilizes color theory to give this poster an otherworldly feeling by using unnatural colors that don't occur in reality to symbolize what crashed is not a meteor. The color of the short story's title also echoes this otherworldly appearance by having the text get darker as it approaches the ship to symbolize what's inside is not friendly. The use of color and imagery to highlight these details of the story lends itself nicely to the theme of being minimalist while also informative.
