Reflective Spirit

For this project, I wanted to create a photo that captured my subject's spirit and personality. I achieved this by capturing a series of candid photos while my subject went about their day.

From that series of photos, I selected this image for the way it captured my subject's energy and sense of humor in the way she approached the camera. What I like the most about this image is not just the way it captures the spirit and personality of my subject but also its composition and the sense of depth it conveys, with the subject being the sole element in focus.

This photo was captured using a Canon camera with a 75 - 300mm lens with an f-stop of 5.6 to provide a deep depth of field. Photoshop was used to convert the image to black and white and rebalance the color levels to enhance the photo's contrast.
